The South Lanarkshire LEADER Programme is a discretionary grant fund that supports the development of projects that provide an economic, environmental or social benefit to the rural area.,
The Programme is managed locally by the South Lanarkshire Rural Partnership (SLRP), who act as the LEADER Local Action Group (LAG) and have responsibility for the delivery and administration of the funding.
The SLRP has been awarded £1.9million in LEADER funding from the Scottish Rural Development Programme.for the period up to 2013.
LEADER has two Action programmes. Action One supports local, innovative projects that fit with the ‘Working Towards Sustainable Rural Communities’ strategy and Action Two su
pports joint and collaborative projects with other LEADER groups in Scotland, the UK or Europe. Most projects will require LEADER support to be matched with other funding. The only exception to this is if support is through one of the Schemes where in some instances small grants can cover 95% of the project cost.
Information about the Programme and how to apply is available on this web site or by contacting the office. You are encouraged to discuss your project idea with the LEADER Programme Manager before making an application who will be pleased to assist you with development of your project and with the completion of the application form.
