This is the second phase of a project that was established under LEADER+ to help local people to restore and develop orchards in the Clyde Valley. The first phase of this project focused on start-up activities, mainly with the Orchard Group and local schools and established a useful web site www.clydevalleyorchards.co.uk . The second phase will focus on exploring new opportunities for orchard restoration and development by investigating a number of business opportunities and establishing a ‘Fruit Day’ event aimed at raising awareness and including stalls selling fruit and fruit produce, cider making demonstrations, fruit identification sessions, and children’s games and activities.
